Integrity

Is it so terribly wrong to be me?
Is ambition ridden the same as unfree
Is it free to have no rules, no bonds you can see
or is it just irresponsibility?
How dare he to just walk into my house
and tell me I'm stupid for my way of life
disparage hard work and duty and strive
no wonder that there is no trace of a wife.
I miss the man who had strength to be
something that I recognized in me
A man who shall never spare me a glance
and who wouldn't care, much less understand
But he shone from a distance in his day
his right to exist somehow paved my way
and I miss him not for his being a man
but for his integrity and his stance.
